John

...John's bio coming soon.

Megan

Megan is the only person I know in real life with her own theme song. That might be enough of a bio right there, but lucky for you I will continue.

Ms. M is best known for stunning Polish magic shows and for her ever popular costume box. She can also be thanked for bringing back 'Thumper' as an oddly successful party game. Megan originated the CW pic and makes the best BBQ pork this side of the Mississippi.

Hailing from the great state of Ohio, Megan and I met through my best friend from home's boyfriend's sister's parents. Yet since appearing in each other's gchat lists one day, we have been established as 'real friends'. That's how it works in New York, folks.

Currently schooling me in all things superhero, Megan has assured the rest of New York that I never ask questions like 'what is Kryptonite' in public ever again.

Katie

Katinka (German for 'Katie') Henly is my roomie and partner in crime. She usually complains about my coffee making skills and I complain about the slow jazz music she sometimes plays on her ipod. Those are the extent of our roommate issues.

Katinky manages a hot Tribeca restaurant and gets to wear a dirndl to work once a year. Other than that she usually wears black dresses with gold jewels, delighting her roommate Sarah. (I will ALWAYS approve the black-and-gold combo. Always.) She knows a lot about German wine and even more about dodging the politics of a Mexican kitchen staff. Everyone south of Canal street adores Katie. Its a fact.

On her downtime, Katinkadink enjoys singing to Neko, watching Serena and Blair, and baking the best caramel cashew cookies you have ever tasted. She doesn't often wear pants in our apartment-- just a big yellow tshirt--and in the morning she looks like Reba Mcentire circa 1989. It's a good thing.

Annie

Annie-- or Annalicious as she is affectionately known-- is the first person I met in New York. (Ask me about that story sometime. It's too self-affirming to publish on this blog but its GOOD.) She has a cat named Dinah and a bike with pink handlebars.

Annie almost moved away to Pennsylvania this year but is thankfully planted firmly on the streets of Brooklyn for a while longer after I gathered over 6,000 signatures from passionate New Yorkers urging her to stay here. (That last part is a small exaggeration. It was a very close call, though.)

Annie is a staple in 'family meal time' in Brooklyn and is hot in the New York film scene. In fact...a very attractive, super famous, young, hot, talented movie star once told her that she was 'the best he's ever had' in front of an entire hoard of press and movie star big wigs. He was referring to her publicist skills, of course...

Alison

Al likes Contemporary African art, Jamaican beer, Paul Simon, and reading the special Times printout at Equinox before work each morning on the elliptical.

Alison enters my life via spontaneous lunches, Movie Mondays, Brooklyn Sundays, Big Man Movie Meals, and drinking wine in the Outpost garden, but only in the good chairs.

Because the two of us so rarely had 'real' dates in the early NY days, Alison is also my designated 'plus one.' After a few successful outings, we quickly realized that it is WAY more fun to go with a friend than with a date anyway. Therefore, galleries, fundraisers, dinner parties, movie screenings, birthday brunches, etc all involve Al Hughes. Weddings are better with real dates, though. (Sorry, Al, but they are.)

She once spotted Kerri Russell's baby in Fort Greene Park-- Kerri not in attendance-- thanks to her enviable knowledge of celebrity baby strollers.
